Cargo insurance
How to insure a shipment and who is liable for damage.
Cargo insurance is a carrier/insurer service and is not part of the platform commission. It is arranged with the chosen carrier at their rates when the cargo is handed over; built-in insurance selection at checkout is on the roadmap, not live yet.
- Ask the chosen carrier for the insurance rate (from ~0.15% of the declared value).
- For oversized and hazardous cargo, terms are agreed with specialized partners.
- Transit damage — document at receipt and open a dispute: carrier data joins the review.
Escrow still protects you
Even without insurance your money is escrow-protected: open a dispute within 7 days of receipt — funds stay held until resolution.
